Phoenix Academy is a tuition-free public charter school for kindergarten to grade 12 at 7847 Clinard Farms Road in north High Point, part of the National Heritage Academies network, according to its website. Charter schools are public schools run by their own boards under a state charter, not by Guilford County Schools, so there is no attendance zone. High school students can take honors and Advanced Placement courses and dual enrollment college classes, the school says.
How to get in: open enrollment for 2027-28 runs through 5 p.m. Feb. 26, 2027. If more students apply than there are seats, a random lottery decides who is offered a seat and sets the order of the waiting list; if there are fewer applications than seats, all eligible students are accepted, according to the school’s admissions page.
