Macedonia is the neighborhood southeast of downtown High Point that the city’s Core City Plan, drawing on the city’s 1999 Macedonia Plan, defines as the area south of East Green Drive, east of downtown and South Main Street, west of the US 311 Bypass and north of Wesley Drive. The bypass is now I-74. The neighborhood is named after Macedonia Creek, and the plan notes its fine-grained grid of streets and a range of housing. East Central is the neighborhood across Green Drive to the north. Almost every address is in ZIP code 27260.

Where it is

This guide covers the streets between South Main Street and I-74 from East Green Drive south toward Wesley Drive: East Russell, East Kearns and East Grimes avenues, Park, Richland, Asheboro, Pershing, Branch and Garrison streets, Wise Avenue, Clara Cox Way, Ardale and Player drives, Brentwood Street and South Centennial Street. Downtown and Washington Street are to the north and Southwest High Point to the west, across South Main Street. All 3,220 Guilford County address points in the area are inside the city; 99% carry ZIP code 27260.

Schools

Macedonia is in Guilford County Schools. We placed all 3,220 county address points on the district’s 2026-27 attendance-zone map, the one behind its School Assignment Locator:

• 92% were zoned for Ferndale Middle and High Point Central High.
• 8%, in the east toward I-74, for Triangle Lake Montessori Elementary and the Southwest Guilford middle and high schools. That corner is in the district’s High Point choice zone, where rising sixth graders can pick Welborn or Southwest Guilford Middle and rising ninth graders Andrews or Southwest Guilford High, according to the choice zone page.
• Elementary zones: 80% Fairview Elementary, 8% Oak Hill, 8% Triangle Lake and 4% Northwood. A few addresses at the south end were zoned for the Allen Jay and Southern Guilford schools.

• Pershing Street Park, 1800 Pershing St.: playground, picnic tables and a hard surface court.
• Brentwood Park, 1301 Brentwood St.: two multipurpose athletic fields.

• Buses: High Point Transit’s Route 20, Kearns Avenue, stops at the Clara Cox Apartments; Route 18 runs along East Green Drive; and Route 16, Leonard Avenue, stops at Park Street and at the Brentwood Crossing apartments, according to the city’s route schedules.
• Freeways: Business 85 (US 29/70) at Surrett Drive is about 1.7 miles by road, at South Main Street about 1.9 miles and at Brentwood Street about 2.1 miles.
• Downtown High Point: about 1.3 miles by road to City Hall.
• Piedmont Triad International Airport: about 17 miles by road.

Groceries and everyday stores

OpenStreetMap lists no supermarket inside the area. The nearest are an ALDI and a Walmart Supercenter on South Main Street to the south, and Superior Foods on North Centennial Street to the north.
