Archdale, Trinity and Thomasville are the three cities closest to High Point, about 6, 8 and 9 miles from its center. They sit in three different counties, which sets most of what differs here: High Point is mostly in Guilford County, Archdale mostly and Trinity entirely in Randolph County, and Thomasville mostly in Davidson County. Each city has small parts in a neighboring county. Every figure below is from an official or published source, with one year or month for all four cities. This page gives the numbers, not a verdict.

What this means for you

  • Your tax rate, school district and services depend on the city and county a parcel is in, not its mailing address. A mailing address can name a city a home is not in.
  • Zillow’s figures are modeled typical values, not sale prices.
  • The last section shows how to check one address.

Property tax rates

North Carolina rates are set per $100 of assessed value. The N.C. Department of Revenue’s 2025-2026 table lists each city’s rate with its main county’s. The effective rate adjusts for how close each county’s last reappraisal is to market value.

City (main county) City rate County rate Combined Effective combined
High Point (Guilford) $0.6475 $0.7305 $1.3780 $0.9412
Archdale (Randolph) $0.3100 $0.5000 $0.8100 $0.6119
Trinity (Randolph) $0.1000 $0.5000 $0.6000 $0.4533
Thomasville (Davidson) $0.6200 $0.5400 $1.1600 $0.7836

The state’s figures leave out special district taxes, such as fire districts and school supplements. Guilford County’s rate table shows Archdale’s small Guilford County part inside the Guil-Rand fire district, for example.

For 2026-27, Guilford County’s rate table shows High Point’s city rate at $0.7349 and the county’s at $0.7895, $1.5244 combined, and Archdale’s city rate still at $0.31. Our property tax guide explains the High Point bill.

Exemptions. North Carolina has no general homestead exemption, and we found none offered by any of the four cities. The state’s relief programs for homeowners 65 or older or disabled, within income limits, and for disabled veterans are run by each county’s tax office.
